This was our own second round, kept here to look back on. We've since had a professional designer take it further. See the latest version, that's where the comments now live.
Concept A, refined (your favourite)
Red to blue. The thermometer bulb's "&" now works as the ampersand in the strapline itself: it reads HEATING [bulb] COOLING SOLUTIONS, so the mark and the words become one. Below it, a plain fallback for tiny sizes (favicon, small print) where the bulb "&" would be too small to read.
Concept F, refined with a thermometer
The pure wordmark, now with a thermometer to the left so it reads as heating and cooling straight away. Shown in the red-to-blue and in navy + amber.
What changed from V1, from your notes:
- "A looks best in red and blue" so A is shown only in that palette now.
- "Would like Solutions in the text" so the strapline reads HEATING & COOLING SOLUTIONS.
- "Maybe the & could go in the bottom of the thermometer" so the bulb "&" now works AS the ampersand, tying the strapline to the mark.
- "Like F but maybe a thermometer to the left" so F now leads with a thermometer icon.
